East Belfast DUP MLA Robin Newton has welcomed written confirmation from recently appointed Minister for the Department of Communities Paul Givan MLA that Ardcarn's Carnet House and Braniel's Whincroft House are in line for a substantial investment and exterior make-over. Robin Newton said,

" I made representation, along with my colleague Gavin Robinson MP, more than a year ago on the need for investment in East Belfast's high rise NIHE properties. I am pleased to have recently received confirmation from Minister Paul Givan MLA that he will follow through on his predecessors decisions and he will support planned investment in Carnet House and Whincroft House. The up-grade scheme is planned to start in September and I urge all residents to keep in touch with NIHE as the work progresses.

This is good news for tenants of these two high rise blocks and I intend to follow-up on future investment for the other East Belfast high rise properties."
