Boiler Replacement Scheme Major Success Eastside

E-mail Print

ROBIN Newton DUP MLA for East Belfast has described the Boiler Replacement Scheme from the Department for Social Development as a major success in helping keep people warm and safe over winter months.

Robin Newton said,

“I would encourage any resident of East Belfast with an old boiler, aged 15 years or over, to consider making an application for grant aid to replace their boiler.

The scheme is available to those who earn less than £40k per annum and has a high percentage of success for those who make an application.

In the year 2012/13 246 applied and 216 were successful.  In the year 2013/14 613 applied and 522 were successful and from April 2014 to January 2015 733 applied and 618 were successful.

Given that a grant of up to £1,000 is available it makes common sense to get an application in.  Not only will the home be warmer but also safer and the house holder will be saving money with a boiler that is more efficient.”
